随着秋风轻拂过校园的每一个角落，高一英语组的老师们怀揣着对英语教育的无限热忱，精心筹备了这场书写盛宴。大赛以“书写传奇The legend of English writing”为主题，旨在通过规范而富有艺术性的英语书写，引导学生们感受英语之美，培养他们的语言素养与审美能力，同时也为紧张的学习生活增添一抹亮丽的色彩。

筹备规划：匠心独运，彰显细节

从活动策划到具体实施，每一步都凝聚了高一英语组老师们的心血与智慧。为了确保比赛的公平性与专业性，老师们不仅制定了详细的比赛规则，还细化了评分标准，力求每一个评分环节都能精准到位。此外，通过海报、班级动员等多种形式，广泛宣传，激发了2024级学生的积极参与热情。

比赛现场：笔墨飞舞，英韵流长

11月20日晚比赛当天，校园内洋溢着一种不同寻常的氛围，同学们个个精神抖擞，摩拳擦掌。随着比赛的开始，选手们迅速进入状态，笔尖在纸上跳跃，如同舞者在舞台上旋转。他们或沉思片刻，或一气呵成，每一笔每一划都显得那么专注和认真；他们或低头沉思，或奋笔疾书，每一个字母、每一个单词都凝聚着他们对英语的热爱与追求。赛场上，有的同学字迹工整，宛如印刷体，展现出扎实的书写功底；有的则创意无限，将英语书写与艺术审美相结合，形成一幅幅生动个性的书写作品。一张张试卷，不仅是知识的载体，更是青春与梦想的见证。

评审颁奖：荣耀时刻，星光璀璨

经过评委老师们认真细致的评选，从书写的规范性、美观性、流畅性、整体性等多个维度对选手的作品进行综合评价，最终评选出了特等奖、一等奖、二等奖等多个奖项。颁奖典礼上，英语教研组组长张怀俊老师和高一年级长聂聚银主任为一等奖获奖学生颁奖，教务处龚普主任为特等奖学生颁奖，并激励同学们在英语学习的道路上继续进步。获奖同学们手捧奖状，脸上洋溢着自豪与喜悦，这不仅是对他们个人努力的认可，也是对英语学习之旅的一次美好纪念。

Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Teachers and Fellow Students,

Good evening!

Today, we gather here to celebrate the achievements of our fellow students who have participated in the English Calligraphy Competition. I would like to start by extending my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners. Whether you received a first-place award or an honorable mention, your effort and dedication are truly commendable. This small victory is a stepping stone towards greater achievements in school and in life.

Let us reflect on the importance of handwriting in the broader context of our academic journey. Neat and clear handwriting can significantly influence, if not determine, the scores we receive on our English essays. These essay scores, in turn, play a crucial role in our overall English grades. And as we all know, English is a subject that can often be the key to boosting our total scores in the college entrance examination. In this sense, the quality of our handwriting, though seemingly minor, can have far-reaching implications, affecting not only our English grades but also the course of our future.

Given the critical importance of English, it is surprising that many of us do not give it the attention it deserves. At the beginning of the school year, there was a sense of novelty and excitement about English and our new teachers. However, as time went on, some of us began to feel that high school English wasn't fundamentally different from what we learned in middle school. The subtle differences were hard to pinpoint, and as a result, English gradually slipped down the list of priorities, often ranking behind subjects like mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, and sometimes even behind Chinese. A very obvious reminder of the difference is the score disparity: in junior middle school, many of us could easily achieve 110 out of 120, or even full marks, while, in high school, scoring 110 out of 150 becomes a significant challenge. This should not be a point of amusement, but rather a moment for reflection: Are we giving English the attention it requires? The answer, unfortunately, is no. While it's true that science subjects can be challenging, English is equally demanding, and with a total possible score of 150, it has the potential to make a substantial difference in our overall exam results. Therefore, the wise among us will understand the weight of this subject and act accordingly.

Improving or maintaining a good level of English proficiency is actually quite straightforward. It simply requires daily commitment to a few key tasks:

u Read through the material learned that day three times.

u Complete one reading comprehension and one cloze test every day.

u Finish your daily English assignments diligently.

u Practice your handwriting regularly.

If you can stick to these habits without fail, English will undoubtedly reward you with excellent results. Learning English is, in fact, one of the most cost-effective and rewarding learning activities. Once again, congratulations to all the participants, and I hope your English skills continue to flourish.

Lastly, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the English teachers who have organized this event. Your efforts and dedication are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
